2015 saw the start of a major refurbishment to the Village Hall

 

The Hall was first built in 1935 and has since been a valued part of the social activities of Wetherden and surrounding Villages.

​

This is by far the largest refurbishment to date and includes:-

 

  • Eight New Ceiling heaters to Main Hall

  • A complete rewire of the electrical circuits allowing for additional sockets to the halls to supply demand for meetings and functions

  • New roof and wall insulation to support the heating, reduce costs and improve the environment of the building

  • New double glazed windows to support the insulation to outside walls

  • New Front porch and Entrance Doors

  • Six New Wall heaters for the meeting room

  • Refurbishment of the toilets to allow for disabled access

  • Additional storage space for the various activities

  • Complete redecoration throughout

  • New hot water heaters for taps to Kitchen and Toilets

  • Three new conference tables for meeting room

  • 28 new blue chairs for meeting room

  • External Decoration

  • Improved external lighting 

  • New external signage

  • New plate Warmer for Kitchen

  • New cupboard & unit to end of kitchen.

  • Sanding and Sealing of floors

  • New slow cooker

  • Car Park resurfaced and Gravelled

  • Paving extended around building

  • Free WIFI (Guest BT Business broadband)

  • Two Quality portable Bluetooth speakers (Compatible with all Bluetooth devices) to play your favourite music 

  • Movable white board for meetings

  • Two picnic tables to rear of hall

  • Pool table

  • More blue chairs

  • Repaint to internal walls & doors 2020

  • Repaint to internal wall June 2024

  • Resealing of floor to Main Hall June 2024

  • Upgrade of Car Park to accommodate Youth football

  • Upholstery clean of 50 blue chairs

  • New curtains throughout 

  • Repairs to external rendering

The refurbishment  is now continuing through 2024 with works to the external of the building and further internal improvements
